RECREATIONAL PROGRAM DIRECTOR (SEASONAL)

The Department of Public Works & Parks is seeking to fill the Recreational Program Director position. This position is responsible for supervising, planning, organizing, directing, and implementing all seasonal recreation programs & activities; including special events, youth development, arts & crafts and other duties assigned by the Parks & Recreation Coordinator. The position will be responsible for the general safety, growth, and skills achievement of the participants in seasonal programs. This position will encourage respect for personnel property, recreational equipment, and park equipment. This position will observe youth behavior, program staff, and enforce appropriate safety regulations & emergency procedures within the policies and guidelines of the City of Worcester.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED, and four (4) years in a supervisory capacity that demonstrates directing recreation programs, intermural sports activities, or therapeutic recreation may be considered in lieu of the above requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
SALARY: $21.00 per hour, seasonal, non-benefitted.
