SENIOR ENGINEERING AIDE

The City of Worcester, Department of Public Works & Parks is seeking applicants for Senior Engineering Aide position. The position is a sanitary/water supply engineering position of a sub-professional nature that primarily involves cross connection control and backflow device inspection and testing. Under the general direction of the Senior Engineer of DPW&P Water Operations, Engineering Section, work performed will require the application of engineering skills in connection with various water supply and distribution system projects in the field or in the office. The position is responsible for the investigation, planning, inspection and testing the City’s water supply to ensure it remains potable. The employee selected will need obtain a certification for Cross Connection Control Device Tester and Surveyor as issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts within twelve months of employment.

o An equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job will be considered in lieu of the above mentioned requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
SALARY RANGE: $25.20 - $30.41 hourly, full-time, with an excellent benefits package.
