SOCIAL WORKER/CLINICIANHEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICESCITY OF WORCESTER
The City of Worcester seeks applicants for the position of Social Worker/Clinician for the Health and Human Services Department. Under the direction of the Commissioner of Health and Human Services, the Social Worker will connect with individuals and families identified at an acutely elevated risk through outreach, navigating the referral processes for housing, and other identified services. Additionally, this position will work to build partnerships with social service organizations and contribute to the strategic initiatives in the Health and Human Services Department.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of community resources and social service agencies serving the Worcester community
- Strong understanding and experience working with homelessness, behavioral health services, and trauma-informed care
- Strong understanding of the social determinants of health, health equity, and cultural sensitivity
- Must have excellent time management skills and be able to prioritize tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other electronic databases
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications, including ability to persuade and motivate others
- Ability to maintain database records, prepare City Council reports and develop and implement care plans
- Ability to conceptualize and organize projects into manageable tasks
- Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse, multicultural community, volunteers, and staff
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field
- Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Certified Social Worker or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Social Work
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Valid Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation
- Two (2) years of clinical social work experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five (5) years of clinical social work experience
- Two (2) years of experience working in the mental health/social work counseling field
- Two (2) years of experience performing similar job duties, including managing programs or projects, and partnering with city and community agencies
- One (1) year of experience working with a diverse, urban population
- Two (2) years of experience communicating and working with populations diverse in language, socio-economic status, race/ethnicity and/or cultural backgrounds
SALARY RANGE: $61,153 - $80,021 annually, full-time, exempt, with an excellent benefits package.
