On February 24,2024 at approximately 2:24 AM, a Worcester Police Officer parked in the Girl’s Inc lot on Providence Street noticed two individuals wearing dark clothing and ski masks. They were later observed opening the door of a gray Jeep, causing the vehicle’s alarm to go off. When the alarm went off, the individuals began walking at a fast pace and abruptly stopped upon seeing the officer’s cruiser, when they quickly crossed the street.
The officer located eighteen-year-old Albert Kariuki on Heywood Street. The officer activated his blue lights. As the officer was explaining the reason for the stop, Mr. Kariuki reported that he was with his friend "Lenny" who was nowhere to be found.
After other units arrived, the officer went back to where the Jeep was parked. Mr. Kariukiwas placed under arrest for Breaking & Entering into a Motor Vehicle in the Nighttime.
