Worcester, MA (June 16, 2011) - Tufts Health Plan Medicare Preferred and Fallon Clinic have partnered with the City of Worcester and Friends of Worcester’s Senior Center for a three-year period to beautify and maintain the Worcester Senior Center’s expansive grounds beginning this Summer until 2013. This generous donation of volunteer labor and funds for landscaping demonstrates the private sector’s commitment to supporting essential municipal services.
Volunteers will be on-site at the Worcester Senior Center on Monday, June 20th and Tuesday 21st
128 Providence Street
City Manager Michael V. O’Brien said, "This project brings the health benefits of a beautiful environment to thousands of seniors who both enjoy and help to maintain the flower and vegetable gardens, bocce court, sitting areas and natural surroundings at the Senior Center. It further improves the landscape on Vernon Hill as well as addressing the limitations of resources available to operate the Senior Center. I commend Ms. Barbara Lynch, Field Sales Representative for Tufts Health Plan Medicare Preferred, for organizing this project and I am grateful for the support offered by all partners involved."
