The City of Worcester will host The Longest Night Vigil, an evening of remembrance and hope to honor those community members lost from homelessness, on Friday, December 20 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at City Hall.
The event, which recognizes Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day, will begin with a candlelight walk at 5:30 p.m. on Worcester Common. An interfaith service will follow at 6:15 p.m. in the Levi Lincoln Chamber. The keynote speaker will be Pastor Richard Gonzalez, director, Net of Compassion.
Free and open to the public, this community event will be hosted by the Homeless Outreach & Advocacy Program (HOAP) in partnership with the City of Worcester Department of Health & Human Services.
