Worcester, MA (November 30, 2016) - The Fiscal Year 2017 proposed assessed values are available for review on the City Parcel Search. The new total assessed value for all taxable property is $12.266 Billion for Fiscal Year 2017, an increase of 9.16%. This valuation reflects the City Assessor's opinion of value for all individual properties as of the legal assessment date of January 1, 2016. The combined single tax rate for Fiscal 2017 is estimated at $23.05 per thousand.
Fiscal 2017 is a full revaluation year for the City. The assessments are pending preliminary certification by the Department of Revenue. The City Council tax rate classification hearing is scheduled for December 13, 2016. Assessing Department staff are available during regular office hours (8:30AM - 5:00 PM Monday - Friday), for taxpayers to make telephone or office inquiries regarding the proposed new values.
