For Immediate Release: 1/16/2022 5:55 pm
Due to the current weather forecast, the Commissioner of Public Works and Parks has determined that a Declared Winter Parking Ban will be in effect at 12 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 17.
Motorists are urged to stay off the roads during the storm. If travel is necessary, plan for additional time to reach your destination, and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles, plows, and other snow equipment.
During the Declared Winter Parking Ban, there is NO PARKING on either side of main arteries, bus routes, and streets in the downtown area. On all other streets, parking is only permitted on the odd numbered side of the street, unless otherwise posted.
City of Worcester Public Parking Garages are free to use upon the announcement of a Declared Winter Parking Ban. Regular parking rates will apply once ban is lifted.
Crews will be on duty at of 11:30 p.m. tonight to assess and treat roads as needed. Starting at 6:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17, the Customer Service Center can be reached at (508) 929-1300.
In an effort to improve the safety of our roadways, parking enforcement—including ticketing and towing—will be active during the Declared Winter Parking Ban.
