Birth Certificates

The Office of the City Clerk maintains the records of Birth. Town records are available for the years 1686 through 1847. City records begin in 1848 and continue to the present day. The City Clerk certifies copies of these records upon request and payment of a fee.

How to Obtain a Certified Copy - Birth Certificate

Online

Order a birth certificate online through Worcester's online payment partner.

Cost: $14

Payment Options: Credit card, debit card or electronic funds transfer (EFT).

In Person or By Mail

Fill out a Birth Certificate Request Form and submit to the City Clerk's Office or via mail.

Cost:

  • $12 in person
  • $14 by mail

Payment Options:

  • In person - Cash, personal check or money order
  • By US Mail - Personal check or money order only
    • Make money order or check payable to "City of Worcester"

Search Birth Certificates

You may search the Birth Record database for any birth that occurred within the city limits of Worcester, MA between January 1, 1900 and December 31, 2011 by entering the last name and first name of the individual.

If the birth record is not available online please contact the Office of the City Clerk for assistance.
