WPD Officers Locate Stolen White SUV, Arrest Juvenile

For Immediate Release: 10/13/2023 9:48 pm

On October 8th 2023 at about 2:45 PM, a white BMW X5 SUV was left running in the parking lot of Olive Garden on Tobias Boland Way, and it was stolen. The vehicle was reported stolen to police, and a BOLO was issued. Over the past few days, several calls have come in with a suspect vehicle listed as a white BMW SUV, including the calls this morning in the Winifred Ave area.

Officers received information that the stolen car was parked in the area of Clegg St, near South High School. Officers went to the location and located the stolen vehicle. They received information that a South High student had been parking the vehicle and walking to school for the past few days. The vehicle was towed.

When school got out, a sixteen-year-old approached plainclothes officers and said that he was looking for his white SUV that was towed. Officers discovered the vehicle key in the possession of the juvenile, who was placed under arrest for Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle. The possible connection to the previous incidents involving the white SUV are still under investigation.

Original Post:

On October 12th 2023 at about 4:50 AM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to the area of Greenbriar Lane for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Officers were told that a female was taking her morning walk when a white SUV passed her, then reversed to where she was walking. A male told her to get in the vehicle, so the female ran into a nearby yard and the vehicle left.
Shortly afterward, dispatchers received another call on Winifred Ave. A male was walking on the street when a white SUV, which was reported to be a BMW occupied by two males, pulled up behind him. One of the males in the SUV demanded money from the walker. The male in the vehicle then demanded that the walker get into the vehicle. The male in the vehicle exited the vehicle and tried to grab the walker, who ran away and hid in a backyard until the vehicle drove away. Officers checked the area but did not locate the white SUV.
