The City of Worcester’s Office of Human Rights and Disabilities is seeking a qualified candidate for the Community Relations Specialist position. The Community Relations Specialist provides administrative support to the Director of Human Rights and Disabilities related to Office and Commission work and is responsible for the development and maintenance of internal and external communication strategies to promote information sharing and support civic engagement and know-your-rights efforts.
The qualified candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills; have the ability to effectively work using email, schedule, spreadsheets, presentation & design software, and social media; possess the ability design, organize, and facilitate educational outreach meetings; the ability work at least one evening per week and the occasion weekend program; be detail oriented; be highly organized and flexible; be able to multitask and meet changing deadlines; be self-directed and able to complete projects with limited supervision; ability to work well independently and as part of a team; be able to work well with and maintain confidential information; have an interest in and sensitivity toward working with diverse populations; & have an interest in human rights, civil rights, and equal opportunity. The Community Relations Specialist may be required to coordinate internships & responsibilities.
SALARY RANGE: $19.52 - $25.92 hourly, full-time
