The Worcester Public Library is seeking a Youth Services Branch Supervisor. The Branch Supervisor is a paraprofessional position, reporting to the Youth Services Branch Manager and under the overall direction of the Community Services Coordinator. This position is responsible for supervising the daily operations of assigned branch libraries and providing exemplary customer service to One City One Library patrons; acts as a liaison with the Main Library Circulation Department and C/W MARS. Work will include evenings, weekends and assignments in other departments and locations.
Qualified candidates will possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills; have experience working with diverse populations in an urban community; have excellent organizational skills; and a high level of professionalism and commitment to the organization. The successful applicant will also have the ability to plan and prioritize work effectively to ensure completion; to resolve conflicts with staff and patrons; to provide information and guidance clearly, courteously and pleasantly to patrons; to work independently and as part of a team, to include community outreach; to communicate with all staff about concepts, ideas, and requirements; to learn new skills in a fast-paced, changing environment; to create positive working relationships with a diverse staff; to be flexible and to easily handle varying work assignments; to learn and use library technologies; to maintain patron confidentiality; to reach and retrieve books at high and low shelf heights; to stand and or sit for prolonged periods of time; to perform bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, and twisting; to perform repetitive hand and arm motions for prolonged periods of time; and to move or lift up to 50 lbs.

SALARY RANGE: $19.91 - $26.44 hourly, full-time
