SUMMER RECREATION LEADER I, VIRTUAL
(PROGRAMMING LEAD)
DIVISION OF YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES

PENDING FUNDING APPROVAL

The Summer Recreation Leader I (Virtual) will supervise the Assistant Summer Recreation Leader 1 (Virtual) and Virtual Youth Worker positions. Responsibilities for this position will include communicating with families about virtual programming, scheduling and overseeing coordination and implementation of virtual programming. Additionally, the Summer Recreation Leader I (Virtual) will coordinate with the Program Coordinator and Assistant Program Coordinators to create and implement curriculum and professional development for staff .Additionally, he/she will engage in a coaching process with staff and connecting families with resources as needed.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills; will have demonstrated proficiency with computers; and will have a strong understanding of virtual programming. The qualified candidate will have the ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse populations, organizations, and interests; ability to work with students with special educational or emotional needs; ability to build relationships and networking skills with students, colleagues, and community members; ability to provide and receive constructive feedback; ability to manage staff, scheduling, lesson planning, and program implementation; the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to pass CORI & SORI check
  • Must have an updated physical in the past 12 months
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience working with children and families from diverse cultural, socioeconomic backgrounds and abilities
  • Experience facilitating activities and programming

STARTING SALARY: $16.00 per hour, part-time, temporary, non-benefitted
