On September 27th 2022 at about 11 AM, Worcester Police Vice Squad officers were on patrol in the area of Main and Wellington St. They observed two individuals, one of whom was identified as Jose Cancel, fifty-five-years-old of Worcester, huddle together and conduct a hand-to-hand transaction. Mr. Cancel and the female parted ways and walked in different directions.
Officer stopped the female suspected to be the buyer, and discovered several bags of what officers suspected to be fentanyl and two bags of what they suspected to be cocaine. Officers stopped Mr. Cancel, who was now on Main St, and recovered over forty bags of suspected fentanyl and four bags of suspected cocaine. Mr. Cancel was placed under arrest and is charged with Possession of a Class A Substance with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Class B Substance with Intent to Distribute, Distribution of a Class A Substance, and Distribution of a Class B Substance.
