On November 25th 2023 at about 3:11 AM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to The Habibi Smokeshop at 650 Main St for a reported commercial break. Officers arrived on scene and found a male being held on the ground by a witness. The witness said that he was driving by when he saw that the glass door to the building was smashed. He observed a male entering the business, at which time he confronted the intruder and detained him until police arrived.
Police corroborated the account of the witness. Officers located a tote bag full of stolen items and a hammer. The male, a seventeen-year-old, was placed under arrest and is charged with Breaking and Entering in the Nighttime for a Felony, Vandalism, Larceny from a Building, and Possession of a Burglarious Instrument.
