On October 20th 2023 at about 11:10 AM, Worcester Police Gang Unit officers were on patrol in the area of Vernon St when they received information that a sixteen-year-old male with a warrant was on foot in the area. Gang Unit officers had previously arrested the youth, who is a known gang member, for firearms charges.
Gang Unit officers were with DYS and Massachusetts State Police personnel when they approached the youth, who was walking on Upsala St. Officers detained him and found a loaded handgun in his waistband. He was placed under arrest for the warrant and is additionally charged with Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, and Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card.
