On Friday, October 14, 2022 Worcester Police detectives went to the Pleasant Pawn Shop located at 334 Pleasant Street to locate the owner, 44-year-old Asmar Akman. Detectives were seeking to place Mr. Akman under arrest for an outstanding arrest warrant for Trafficking Firearms and Receiving Stolen Property. The warrant was the result of an investigation conducted by the Worcester Police Department and law enforcement partners in Florida (Pinellas County Sheriff's Office in Dunedin Florida). During the investigation Worcester Police detectives recovered large amounts of jewelry and a firearm that were identified as stolen property from a theft in Florida. Mr. Akman was located at the location and arrested without incident.
