On April 13, 2023 at approximately 12:35 AM Worcester police officers received a ShotSpotter activation for shots fired in the area of Southbridge Street. Upon arrival, officers located a 36-year-old male gunshot victim in a parking lot located at Southbridge Street and Lafayette Street. Officers rendered medical aid until Worcester EMS arrived on scene and transported him to the hospital. The victim appeared to be suffering from non-life threatening injuries. His condition is unknown at this time. Additional units processed the scene and began to investigate. Detectives are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
