On Saturday, May 6th at approximately 5:15 PM officers responded to a residence on West Boylston Street for a report of a breaking and entering in progress. The homeowner arrived home and notice that his home was vandalized and rummaged through. The victim reported that the suspect was still inside the home. Police arrived on scene and located the male suspect in the backyard. The male, later identified as 50-year-old Joseph Hayes, was in possession of stolen items. The items were returned to the homeowner.
Joseph Hayes, 50, of 16 Winter Street, North Brookfield, was charged with B&E during the daytime with intent to commit a felony, larceny from a building, and willful and malicious destruction of property.
