Sean J. Fleming - Deputy Chief

The Administrative Division of the Worcester Police Department oversees crime analysis, training, the records bureau, licensing and the Department’s off duty assignments.

The Division includes the following:

  • Off Duty Detail Assignment Unit

Bureau of Investigative Services

Mark S. Roche - Deputy Chief

The Bureau of Investigative Services comprises the Department’s Detective Bureau, Forensic Services Section, Gang Unit and Vice Units. The Bureau of Investigative Services is responsible for the daily administration of law enforcement investigations and follows up in response to major crimes meriting prosecution with a primary focus on a reduction in violent crimes to include: homicides, narcotics, firearms offences and gang related crimes. The unit is also charged with alcohol enforcement and licensing of liquor establishments in the City of Worcester.

Bureau of Professional Standards

The function of the Bureau of Professional Standards is to ensure the integrity of the Worcester Police Department and its personnel, both sworn and non-sworn.

Operations

Paul B. Saucier - Deputy Chief

The Operations Division responsibilities are to address calls for service 24/7, provide traffic enforcement, staff the Department’s community impact operations and provide liaisons to the Worcester Public Schools.

The Division includes the following:

  • Animal Control
  • Operations Days Relief
  • Operations First Half Relief
  • Operations Last Half Relief
  • Problem Property Unit
  • School Liaison
  • Special Operations

Services

Edward J. McGinn - Deputy Chief

The Services Division provides management of the detention area, court liaisons, support services, and accident reconstruction.

The Services Division of the Worcester Police Department includes the following:

  • Cell Room and Prisoner Processing & Transportation
  • Court Liaison's Office
  • Crash Reconstruction Unit
  • Detention Attendants/Matrons
  • Plant Engineering & Maintenance
  • Service Division
  • Traffic Enforcement
  • Vehicle Fleet Maintenance
