The Worcester Common Oval Public Ice Skating Rink will be closed on Monday, January 21 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day) due to extremely cold temperatures and a very low wind chill factor.
Ice Sculpture Day, originally scheduled for Monday, has been rescheduled for Friday, January 25 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event will provide the public with an opportunity to take photos with creations from Brilliant Ice Sculpture and enjoy public ice skating.
The Oval offers skate rentals and more, making it a fun and affordable family-friendly activity. Ice skating is available through February 24 on Fridays from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. The Oval will also be open during the entire week of school vacation on Monday, February 18 (President’s Day) through Thursday, February 21 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, February 22 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, February 23 and 24 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Normal admission for open skating is $5, and free for children six and younger. Skate rentals are available for $5. The Oval is also available for private group rentals by calling (508) 929-0125.
