As the City of Worcester and the Worcester Fire Department continue to mourn the loss of Firefighter Christopher J. Roy following his heroic efforts to battle a 5 alarm fire on Sunday, December 9, and as is tradition with departed members of fire service, Firefighter Christopher J. Roy is returning home after passing by his station this afternoon. He is being received by Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home where preparations are underway for Firefighter Roy’s final tribute.
Calling Hours will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church, 4 Temple Street, Worcester, MA. on Friday, December 14 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 15 at 10:00 a.m. also at St. John’s Catholic Church following a private family procession from Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow where he will be laid to rest at Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster Street, Worcester, MA.
A memorial fund has been established by Worcester Firefighters IAFF Local 1009 in the name of his daughter, Ava Roy. Checks may be made payable to the AVA ROY FUND and mailed directly to the Worcester Fire Department Credit Union, 34 Glennie St, Worcester, MA 01605.
