On September 15th, 2020 at about 10:40 AM, Worcester Police Vice Squad officers were conducting surveillance in the area of Belmont and Edward St. Officers had received information that illegal drugs were being sold by a female, later identified as Kayla Obando, twenty-eight-years-old of Chandler St, out of a particular vehicle. Officers observed Ms. Obando driving the vehicle on Belmont St. They observed the vehicle pull up to Earle St, where another female got into the vehicle. The driver took a short ride around the area and then dropped the passenger off at nearly the same spot.
At this point, officers had probable cause that a drug transaction had occurred, and they stopped the female who had entered the vehicle and discovered that she possessed what appeared to be crack cocaine. Officers stopped Ms. Obando in the vehicle, and placed her under arrest for Distribution of a Class B Substance (Crack Cocaine) and Operating a Motor Vehicle after Suspension of License. She was placed under arrest and will be arraigned.
