The Worcester Police Department will hold a graduation ceremony for the newest Police Academy class on Friday, July 9th at 10 a.m. The event will take place at the Worcester Technical High School. Police Chief Steven M. Sargent will preside over the ceremony. Sgt. Richard Cipro will be the Master of Ceremonies.
The class is made up of 24 recruits and an additional six were immediately sworn-in six months ago because they had already completed academy training.

The graduates have received intense training, which began in January and lasted 23 weeks. The Worcester Police Academy training curriculum included classroom study, physical training, first responder training, applied patrol procedures and scenario-based exercises. The classes were taught by Worcester Police Academy staff instructors, experienced Worcester police officers from various units in the department and guest instructors-including law enforcement officials and civilians from outside agencies.
