On December 10th 2021 at about 1:35 AM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to the area of 129 Water St for a report of a stolen motor vehicle. Officers determined that a Subaru Forester had been parked and left running when a male, identified as Anthony Vinton, twenty-seven-years-old of Mendon St, opened the vehicle door and got in. Witnesses told officers that the vehicle’s owner confronted Mr. Vinton and yelled at him to get out of her car, and Mr. Vinton pushed her to the ground and drove away. The owner had never seen Mr. Vinton before and he did not have permission to use the vehicle.
Officers sent out a BOLO over the radio, and the vehicle was located at the Dunkin’ Donuts drive through on Grafton St. Mr. Vinton was ordered to get out of the vehicle and was placed under arrest. A check of CJIS showed that he did not have a driver’s license. He is charged with Carjacking, Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Use of a Motor Vehicle without Authority, and Assault and Battery. He will be arraigned in court.
