On October 26th 2022, Worcester Police officers assigned to the Neighborhood Response Team were conducting surveillance in the area of Main St. At about 11:20 AM, they observed a male, identified as Jose Cancel, fifty-five-years-old of Worcester, speaking with another male. They observed Mr. Cancel take a plastic bag out of his jacket pocket, remove an item, and give it to the male. The male gave paper money to Mr. Cancel.
Officers stopped the male, and discovered what appeared to be crack cocaine. Officers stopped Mr. Cancel and discovered several bags of what appeared to be crack cocaine, and bags of what appeared to be fentanyl. Mr. Cancel was placed under arrest and is charged with Trafficking in Fentanyl over 10 Grams, Distribution of a Class B Substance, and Possession of a Class B Substance with intent to Distribute.
