On July 31st, 2020 at about 4:18 AM, Worcester Police officers responded to Cambridge St. for a report of an armed robbery. After an investigation, officers discovered that the female victim had been walking on Cambridge St when an unknown female walked up to her, threatened her, and began swinging a knife at her. The suspect slashed the victim with the knife and stole personal items from her before fleeing the area. The victim had non-life-threatening injuries and was evaluated medically.
After an investigation, officers developed probable cause for the arrest of Daisy Virella, twenty-five-years-old of Cambridge St. On August 6th at about 10:30 PM, she was placed under arrest after a Main St motor vehicle stop. She is charged with Armed Robbery and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (knife). She will be arraigned in Worcester District Court.
