Worcester Police Department Crash Recon Unit Investigates Plantation St Motorcycle Crash

For Immediate Release: 6/23/2020 11:00 pm

On June 23rd, 2020 at about 2:30 PM, Worcester Police were dispatched to the area of 600 Plantation St for a report of a serious motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, officers provided medical aid to the thirty-one-year-old victim, who had been very seriously injured when his motorcycle crashed into a Toyota Prius. The elderly driver of the Prius initially left the scene, but was pulled over shortly after it occurred. The victim was transported to the hospital by paramedics, and the Crash Reconstruction Unit was activated to investigate the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcycle operator was traveling north on Plantation St in the left lane. The Toyota was stopped in the southbound turn lane on Plantation Street at the intersection of Natural History Road. The Toyota turned left toward Natural History Rd and struck the motorcycle, causing it to lose control. The motorcycle left the roadway, struck the guard rail, and continued down Plantation St.
