On April 6th, 2021 at about 8 PM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to the area of the plaza at Jennings and Grafton St for a report of loud music. This has been a recurring problem this year and officers have been dispatched for similar complaints many times. There were many vehicles gathered there, and there were many “No Trespassing” signs. As officers arrived, the vehicles started to leave.
After several minutes, an officer’s attention was drawn to an Acura sedan parked directly two “No Trespassing” sign for a closed business. At this time, officers approached the vehicle to speak with its two occupants. Officers discovered that male in the driver’s seat, identified as Armando Cruz, twenty-five-years-old of GBV Ave, did not have a driver’s license. Officers discovered that the vehicle was uninsured and had a revoked registration, and they observed a knife in the center console. Officers checked the grabbing area of the vehicle and located a machete and loaded handgun behind the front passenger’s seat.
Mr. Cruz and his passenger, Ezequiel Rivera, twenty-six-years-old of Oxford St, did not have a license to carry firearms. They were both placed under arrest and are charged with Trespass, Possession of a Firearm without a License, and Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card. They will be arraigned in court.
