The Worcester Police Department announced temporary road closures and intermittent traffic control ahead of Friday morning's funeral for Sgt. Derrick Leto who passed away last week off-duty. Drivers can expect intermittent delays and detours on Grafton Street beginning at 9:15 AM. Traffic on Grafton Street will be detoured to Dorchester Street and Hamilton Street. Motorists should consider using alternative routes. Tractor trailers should avoid the area. Parking will also be restricted in the area of St. Stephen Catholic Church located at 357 Grafton Street. The roads are expected to reopen at approximately 11:45 AM.
Traffic Division Officers are advising drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians to take extra care to obey the rules of the road and to be considerate of others traveling on local streets in the area of the funeral.
