Officers Seize Gun during Arrest

For Immediate Release: 9/22/2022 11:19 am

On September 21, 2022 a Worcester police officer observed 31-year-old Jordan Waterman walking on Main Street. Mr. Waterman was wanted on a warrant from the state of Maine. Two officers exited their cruisers in an attempt to arrest Mr. Waterman. Mr. Waterman took off in a full sprint when he saw the officers. One of the officers was a K9 officer. His canine, Beebs, was called to assist with the apprehension. The canine ran past Mr. Waterman which caused the man to stop and reverse direction -back toward the officers. The officers were able to make contact with Mr. Waterman but he continued to ignore all commands and began to try physically harm the officers. As additional officers arrived on scene to assist, they saw that Mr. Waterman was in possession of a firearm and wearing body armor. Officers were able to remove the firearm and secure it.

Mr. Waterman was taken into custody.

Mr. Waterman was also in possession of sandwich bags containing a white powder believed to be narcotics. Mr. Waterman also had loose rounds of ammunition in his possession.

Jordan Waterman, 31, of 83 Bartlett Street, Lewiston, ME was charged with firearm use in a felony, resisting arrest, carrying a loaded firearm, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, use of body armor in a felony, disorderly conduct, fugitive from justice warrant, and possession of class A with intent to distribute.
