On March 24, 2021 at approximately 6:55 PM officers responded to 240 Belmont Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident. A U-Haul van hit a parked car and proceeded to back the vehicle into a fire hydrant.
The driver was identified as 19-year-old Angelo Carnute of Pittsfield. Officers observed that he had a clear bag filled with oxycodone pills and a fanny pack with a large amount of cash. When officers removed Mr. Carnute from the vehicle they observed a loaded firearm that was underneath him.
Mr. Angelo Carnute of 123 Imperial St, Pittsfield was charged with possession of class B substance with intent to distribute, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, possession of ammunition without an FID card, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, and use of a firearm in a felony.
Paramedics located 27-year-old Jordan Scanlon of Pittsfield in the back of the van. Officers observed more oxycodone pills near his hand. Mr. Scanlon had a loaded firearm in his waistband. Officers safely removed and secured the firearm.
Mr. Scanlon of 476 Crane Ave, Pittsfield was charged with possession of class B substance with intent to distribute, carrying a firearm under the influence of liquor/drugs, possession of ammunition without and FID card, carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, and use of a firearm in a felony.
