On April 26, 2021 at approximately 4:30 PM a member of the Neighborhood Response Team was conducting Off Highway Vehicle enforcement due to an increase in citizen complaints about the illegal operation of dirt bikes in the City.
The officer was in an unmarked police cruiser traveling on Russel Street toward Pleasant Street when he heard the sound of an off road dirt bike. The officer then observed a dirt bike drive toward him performing a wheelie. The operator proceeded to drive recklessly traveling on the sidewalk on Bellevue Street and Chandler Street. A short time later, the officer observed the operator pull to the side of the road in the area of 23 King Street. The officer approached the operator who was identified as 20-year-old Albert Torres-Colon. Mr. Torres-Colon was also in possession of crack cocaine and cash.
A check of the vehicle also revealed that the dirt bike was stolen.
Mr. Albert Torres-Colon of 76 Townsend Street Worcester was charged with receiving stolen property of $1,200, disorderly conduct, operating a OHV on a public way, operating without a helmet, operating a vehicle recklessly/negligent, and possession of Class B substance with intent
