On Monday, August 24, 2020 3:46 PM the Crash Reconstruction Team was activated after a report of a pedestrian accident in the area of 30 Chandler Street. The pedestrian was identified as a 70-year old male. He was rushed to a local hospital to be treated for a head and leg injury.
The operator was identified as a 78-year-old male.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the operator was reversing from the parked position in the parking lot of 30 Chandler Street. The pedestrian was sitting the parking lot and slid his body over at the same time the vehicle was attempting leave the parking lot in the forward position. The operator struck the male.
The investigation continues.
