ASSISTANT HEAD GOLF PROFESSIONAL
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS & PARKS
CITY OF WORCESTER

The Green Hill Municipal Golf Course is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Head Golf Professional. Under the direction of the Director of Golf, the employee is responsible for implementing and coordinating golf instructional programming; assisting the Director of Golf with tournament/event preparation and execution; opening and closing the golf course pro-shop and assisting with merchandise sales, tee time operations and point of sale transactions. The Assistant Head Golf Professional will also assist with club fitting, driving range monitoring, reports, deposits, golf cart fleet management, and other related duties assigned by the Director. Shifts are between 6:00AM and dusk.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Knowledge of club fitting and golf cart fleet management;
• Familiarity with POS transactions/retail operations; math skills;
• Strong written and verbal communications skills;
• Strong interpersonal skills;
• Ability to perform a minimum of 20 programming hours per week at the course;
• Ability to work flexible hours, including holidays and weekends;
• Ability to work well with the public/patrons;
• Ability to walk upwards of a mile;
• Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 30lbs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Class A or B member of the P.G.A. of America in good standing and must maintain good standing classification for the duration of employment
• Must have completed P.G.A. entrance exam and player ability test
• Must be enrolled in Professional Golf Management (PGM) Program or Apprentice program and must continue to make progress in PGM/Apprentice program throughout employment
• Prior experience conducting golf instruction for a variety of ability levels including individual and group settings
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
• Ability to pass CORI check

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Three (3) years of experience working in a par 72, 18-hole golf course
• Experience conducting golf lessons including junior program and veterans P.G.A. Hope Program, preferred
• Familiarity with foreUP software
• Certified First-Aid and CPR

SALARY: $750 weekly, seasonal, non-benefitted.
