JUNIOR CIVIL ENGINEER, GR 3

The City of Worcester, Department of Public Works & Parks is seeking applicants for Junior Civil Engineer, Gr 3 positions for the Division of Engineering. The positions will work in both the office and in the field on a variety of engineering assignments. Some of the work is of an advanced sub-professional nature. Assignments are received from a superior defining the scope of the work to be performed and employee will use independent judgement in planning and carrying out work details in accordance with established policies and standard procedures. Technical accuracy of work is reviewed through standard checks by supervising engineer. Supervision may be exercised over a small group of sub-professional assistants.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

o An equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job will be considered in lieu of the above mentioned requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
SALARY RANGE: $30.87 - $37.62 per hour, full-time, with an excellent benefits package. Additional annual stipend of $1,000 for Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. Additional stipends are available for current EIT, SIT, RLS and/or PE certifications.
