Spring Street Sweeping—Parking Ban in Sweeping Area

For Immediate Release: 5/4/2020 1:45 pm

The Street Sweeping Program is designed to collect sand debris—not to collect yard waste.

Do Not Place Leaf or Brush Piles In the Street

Obey posted “No Parking” signs--Violators may be ticketed $50.00 and towed.

Beginning Tuesday, May 5, 2020, DPW&P will begin residential street sweeping in Routes 23, 24, 25 and 26 shown in the green shaded areas on the map online at the following link: http://www.worcesterma.gov/streets/spring-street-sweeping

These street sweeping areas are bounded by Goddard Memorial Drive, Swan Avenue, Wildwood Avenue, Mill Street, Circuit Avenue North, Minthorne Street, Beaver Brook Parkway, Main Street, Curtis Street, Stafford Street, Heard Street, Knox Street, Rockwell Street, Apricot Street, the Auburn town line and the Leicester town line.

Residents in the sweeping area should sweep sidewalk debris into the street. Yard waste must not be placed in the street. Yard Waste will not be collected and violators may be fined.

The DPW&P sweeps residential side streets from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Because the City’s Yard Waste Sites will not open until Governor Baker lifts the current Emergency Order related to the Coronavirus pandemic, we are requesting residents temporarily store their yard waste at home. Once the Order is lifted and the yard waste sites are opened, residents can then take yard waste to the three sites. Illegal dumping of yard waste at the sites while they are closed will not be tolerated and violators will be subject to fines.
