    Join NAACP Worcester for a public reading of Frederick Douglass' 1852 address "What, To The Slave, is the Fourth of July" on the Worcester Common! All who attend can share in the reading, taking turns to read Douglass' words aloud.

    The Worcester Common Oval located behind City Hall serves as a public gathering place throughout the year. The Oval hosts the popular "Out to Lunch" summer concert series and farmer's market. The Oval also offers public skating in the Winter months with skate rentals, concessions and special events.
