Space for Lease in Historic Union Station

Union-Station.jpg For Immediate Release: 10/1/2021 3:19 pm

The City of Worcester and the Worcester Redevelopment Authority (WRA) are pleased to offer an excellent business opportunity to enter into a growing market by offering space for lease in the beautifully-restored Historic Union Station Intermodal Transportation Center.

Union Station is located at the center of an ongoing billion-dollar development area in the heart of Worcester, which features convenient acess off of Mass  Turnpike I-90 and Routes 290, 495, 395 and 146.

The City is developing a world-class, pedestrian- friendly downtown area, where people can live, work and frequent exciting entertainment and recreational establishments.

Opened in 1911, Union Station is one of Worcester’s most historic structures, functioning as an intermodal transportation center that includes Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority commuter rail service to Boston, Amtrak, taxi service, intra- and inter-City bus services, restaurant and banquet hall facilities, parking facilities, and free Wi-Fi access.

Union Station was redeveloped by the WRA in 1999 after abandonment in 1972. The
revitalization of the Union Station Intermodal Transportation Center created a major
transportation hub connecting to Boston, Central Massachusetts, the Commonwealth, and the New England region.

Critically acclaimed, Union Station draws in the passerby through its landmark towers, marble-finished entryway, striking presence, and monumental design.

In addition to its use as a transportation hub, Union Station is a vital component to the City of Worcester’s transit-oriented development goals. The reconfigured Washington Square connects Worcester’s east and west sides and the Downtown. It provides easy access to Shrewsbury Street's Restaurant Row and the burgeoning Canal District. It is a critical link in the extended Front Street as part of the CitySquare project. These areas are vital components of development efforts that are linking livable space with a vibrant urban culture.

This RFI seeks to identify an experienced retailer, restaurateur, or business to lease
approximately 98 square feet of available space located on the first floor of Union Station.
