The Worcester Veterans’ Council and the City of Worcester Veterans’ Services Division will host the following events in observance of the Memorial Day holiday:
Sunday, May 26: Water Ceremony – Elm Park – 2 p.m.
Monday, May 27: Memorial Day Observance Remembrance Ceremony – Hope Cemetery – 9 a.m. Massing of Colors (inside main gate on right) – 9:15 a.m. Program (Veteran’s Section #45)
Monday, May 27: Wreath Laying Ceremony – Massachusetts Vietnam Veterans Memorial – Green Hill Park – 11 a.m. (Sponsored by the Perpetual Care Committee of the Memorial)
A memorial fund has been established by Worcester Firefighters IAFF Local 1009 in the name of Firefighter Christopher J. Roy's daughter, Ava Roy. Checks may be made payable to the AVA ROY FUND and mailed directly to the Worcester Fire Department Credit Union, 34 Glennie Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
