Recommit to the City Manager

 

2.       Communication of the City Manager recommending that One Hundred Fifteen Thousand Five Hundred Seven Dollars ($115,507.00) in FY04 Local Law Enforcement Block Grant funding be appropriated to Account #18S304, LLEBG Round 9, when received to provide financing for police officer equipment and YWCA/Daybreak WIN (Worcester’s Intervention Network) Program.

Chairman’s Order Request the City Manager communicate with Congressman James P. McGovern the importance of Local Law Enforcement Block Grant funding to the overall success of municipal police enforcement initiatives.

 

Chairman’s Order request the City Manager to communicate with all Fiscal Year 2004 Community Development Block Grant fund applicants who were not recommended for funding to inform them of the newest round of fund requests.

 

Chairman’s Order request the City Manager to report to the City Council regarding national trends in crime statistics and how they might affect the City of Worcester in the future.

 

Discussion Item:

The City Manager discussed with the City Council his Communication of October 19, 2004 concerning a re-allocation of management resources at the Worcester Police Department.
