Report of the Historical Commission upon the Petition of Janet Merrill, President of Crown Hill Neighborhood Association requesting to create a Local Historic District to include some properties in the area of Pleasant, Piedmont, Chandler, Irving, Clinton Streets and Houchin Avenue. # 15a CC December 18, 2012

Hearing Opened by the Chairperson @ 5:33 p.m. with the Chairperson requesting the Director of Planning to provide the Committee with a history of the petition, preparation of the documentation supporting the establishment of the proposed local historic district and details of the reasons for the proposed boundary lines.

The Committee unanimously agreed to amend the proposed boundary of the district to add property at 39 Irving Street at the request of the petitioner which met with concurrence from the administration and the petitioner’s successor, Dr. Thomas Johnson.

Chairman's Orders

Request City Manager recommend to City Council within 30 days the framework for the structure of a program for future funding the financial gaps that will arise for improvements that property owners with the proposed Crown Hill Local Historic District will choose to make to their properties.
