Russell - Request the Standing Committee on Youth, Parks & Recreation meet to discuss additional steps that can and must be taken at the baseball field at Vernon Hill Park to prevent foul balls from striking and damaging the homes and parked cars of neighbors on adjacent Ames Street. # 14f CC May 29, 2018

Chairman's Orders

Request City Manager consider working with the baseball and softball leagues who play at Vernon Hill Park and opening the gated, hilly area adjacent to the park for parking. Further, request City Manager provide City Council with a report concerning the feasibility of doing so.

Request City Manager evaluate the netting at Vernon Hill Parka and consider extending the netting both vertically and diagonally, in an effort to stop foul balls from leaving the field.

Request City Manager consider working with the baseball and softball leagues who play at Vernon Hill Park to determine whether an overhead backstop would be a feasible and cost effective way to stop foul balls from leaving the field.
