Order Councilor Frederick C. Rushton - Request City Manager consider outsourcing the management of Worker’s Compensation issues similar to the program used by the City of Springfield, where the overall Worker’s Compensation costs were reduced by 47%, and in the City of Methuen where a savings of more than $4 million was realized.

Palmieri - That the City Clerk be designated by the City Council as the Small Business Ombudsman for the City of Worcester and that he, and staffpeople he so designates, act to refer inquirers to appropriate municipal, state and federal departments, agencies and licensing authorities in accordance with a “One-Stop Shopping for Business” brochure. Further request that said brochure be installed on the front page of the City of Worcester web site with a button labeled, “How do I start a business in Worcester?”
