MOMENT OF SILENCE in memory of Sara Robertson , Worcester’s first woman mayor and a voting rights activist in the city, who passed away on May 7, 2023 at the age of 88.

MOMENT OF SILENCE in memory of Timothy Connolly, who passed away on May 3, 2023 at the age of 68. Mr. Connolly was very involved in the city, covering issues including political campaigns and the State House news for the Telegram and Gazette, as well as working for the Worcester County District Attorney.

 

4c.

Mayor Petty read a Proclamation declaring Saturday, May 13, 2023 as National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive Day in the city.

Mayor Petty presented the North High School Varsity Boys Basketball team with Keys to the City for winning the Division I State Championship. The players who were provided Keys were Ty Tabales, Tahlan Pettway, Khari Bryan, Amir Jenkins, Jaydon Kusi-Sarkodie, Jonathan Membrino, Joseph Okla, David Baafi, Teshuan Steele, Nalajah Christopher, Carl-Hens Belliard, Amaren Minor. The team was coached by Al Pettway, Demar Langford, Pat Wetherbee and Eric Boss and managed by Anna Leto.

MOMENT OF SILENCE on May 16, 2023 in memory of Darlene Perro, who passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023 at the age of 63. Darlene was born and raised in the city and served as Assistant Clerk Magistrate in the Worcester District Court Clerk’s Office.
