MOMENT OF SILENCE in memory of Mary Valentine “Sid” Callahan, who passed away at the age of 93 on April 2, 2017. Ms. Callahan was a lifelong Worcester resident, who worked at the Worcester Telegram and Gazette and was a woman dedicated to making the City of Worcester a better place.

Mayor Joseph M. Petty recognized Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Powers as this year’s recipients of the Caffrey Memorial Award. The Caffrey Award is presented to those in Worcester’s community who demonstrate courage, fortitude and perseverance through deeds and actions on behalf of the community.
