The Mayor recognized Mr. Quat Tran who requested that the Vietnamese flag be displayed in front of City Hall during the Chinese New Year between January 30, 2006 and February 3, 2006.

 

The Mayor recognized Walter Wyse, 31 Greenfield St. and residents of the Dunkirk Ave. neighborhood concerning the October 15 flooding. The City Manager updated the City Council concerning efforts to determine any negligence on the part of the City. (See item 17a)

17.     Peter Salek request to change the signs located on four poles on the corner of Main St. and Ludlow St. and Ludlow St. and Stafford St. to remove “6:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m.” so that no trucks over 5 tons are allowed on Ludlow St for 24 hours. (Attachments)

17a.   Request City Manager provide the City Council with a report relative to the City’s financial participation regarding repairs and/or infrastructure improvements pertinent to the October 2005 flooding in the Dunkirk Ave. neighborhood. Further, request that the City fund the entire cost of valve installation in affected homes, permitting fees or any other fees associated with the installation of the valves. B.      Recommend that Twenty Nine Thousand One Hundred Twenty Dollars and Sixty Cents ($29,120.60) be transferred from Account #330-07, Reserve for Appropriation Damage Settlement, and appropriated to Account #250-92000, Police Department Ordinary Maintenance, to fund repair costs associated with damages to police vehicles.  These funds represent proceeds from the insurance company for damages to sixteen police vehicles. C.      Recommend that Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00) be transferred from Account #91C711, Building Rehabilitation, and appropriated to Account #11C703, City Messenger Capital Rehabilitation, to provide funds for costs incurred with the rehabilitation of the Alderman Chambers at City Hall, as approved in the Fiscal 2006 Capital Improvement Program. D.      Recommend that Eight Thousand Six Hundred and Six Dollars ($8,606.00) be transferred when and as received from Account #91C780, Citywide Capital Equipment, and appropriated to Account #72C701, Parks Capital Equipment, to provide funds for the purpose of purchasing the following pieces of capital equipment for the Parks Division:
