Worcester, MA (November 3, 2017) - On 11/2/17 the WPD Vice Squad was in possession of a search warrant for 91 Murray Ave Apt 44, after a lengthy investigation. The target of the search warrant was twenty-six-year-old resident Alejandro Quiles. At approximately 2 PM, members of the Vice Squad stopped Mr. Quiles leaving the apartment. They told him that they had a search warrant for the apartment, and he said that his fiancé was at home. Officers knocked on the door and announced “Police, Search Warrant” several times. Then they used Mr. Quiles’ key to enter the apartment.
Inside the apartment, officers advised Mr. Quiles and his fiancé of their Miranda rights. Mr. Quiles admitted that he had a firearm and some crack cocaine in the house. The officers recovered 3 rocks of Crack cocaine, packaging, cut corner baggies, a digital scale, and a razor blade. Under a mattress in the bedroom, they located a .22 caliber revolver. Mr. Quiles does not have an FID card or license to carry firearms in Massachusetts. Mr. Quiles acknowledged ownership of the drugs and firearm and said that his fiancé was not aware of them.
Mr. Quiles was placed under arrest. He was charged with Possession of a Class B Substance with intent to Distribute, Drug Violation within 1000’ of a School, Use of a Firearm in a Felony, Improper Storage of a Firearm, Carrying a Firearm without a License, and Armed Career Criminal Level 2. He will be arraigned at the Worcester District Court.
