WPD Vice Squad Delivers Blow to Oread St Drug Dealing

Worcester, MA (April 27, 2017) - On Thursday, April 27, 2017, members of the Vice Squad executed a search warrant at 14 Oread St. Many local residents have complained about the open drug dealing at this address, and the negative effect it has had on the neighborhood. At approximately 1115 hrs, the warrant was executed. Several individuals scrambled to hide drugs and a firearm. Officers encountered the target of the warrant, John Hermanson, thirty-two years old of the same address, kneeling and dropping small objects into a hole in the floor. Officers later recovered several small bags of what appeared to be heroin. Mr. Hermanson was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Class A Substance with Intent To Distribute, and Conspiracy to Violate Controlled Substance Laws.

Another male, Kris Baynes, twenty-years old of the Bronx, New York, was observed throwing a bag out the window after officers entered the building. Officers outside recovered the bag, which contained a large sum of paper money, a firearm, nine small bags of heroin, and five small bags of crack cocaine. Mr. Baynes was placed under arrest and charged with several crimes related to the firearm and drugs. Roberto Roman, thirty-two years old (homeless), and Jeremy Rawson, twenty-six years old of 26 Queen St were located inside the building, which was marked “No Trespassing.” Neither individual lived in the building and could not provide a valid reason for being there. They were both placed under arrest and charged with trespassing.
