Worcester, MA (August 22, 2017) – On Monday, August 21, 2017, at approximately 8:48 PM, Worcester Police responded to a Cambridge Street address for a report of a male that was shot. Several police units responded. Officers were told by dispatch that a male had answered his door after someone had knocked and he was then shot through the door.
Upon the officers arrival they met with an 18-year-old male victim. The male was holding his arm and stated that he was just shot by an unknown person.
The victim stated that he was in his home when he heard a knock at the door. The victim went out to the front porch to open the door. When the door was opened he observed one male that called out his name. The victim acknowledged the male but quickly became suspicious when he observed a second male tucked close to the apartment building. The victim immediately began to retreat back into his apartment when the second male suspect fired a shot at the victim.
Once inside the apartment the victim realized that he was hit in the arm. A family member within the apartment called emergency services. The wound was superficial and the victim refused medical treatment at the scene.
The victim could not provide a physical description of the two male suspects citing poor lighting out by the front door. The victim refused to provide any further information to the officers.
